Since its inception in 1912, MONIN has evolved from a small French syrup manufacturer to a global leader in premium beverage solutions. The brand has maintained a commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, ensuring its products meet the evolving tastes and preferences of consumers worldwide. Core values such as creativity, authenticity, and a dedication to excellence continue to guide MONIN’s journey in the dynamic global beverage industry.

Can you give us a quick overview of MONIN’s current product range and its appeal to F&B professionals?

MONIN offers a diverse range of products including syrups, fruit mixes, sauces, concentrates, frappés, and the PURE and Paragon ranges. These products are designed to cater to the needs of F&B professionals by providing high-quality, versatile ingredients that enhance the flavor profiles of beverages and culinary creations, allowing for innovation and consistency in their offerings.

The recently launched MONIN Pure Range is a clear response to the growing demand for clean-label and health-conscious products. What inspired this innovation, and how has the consumer response been so far, especially in the Indian market?

The MONIN Pure Range was developed in response to the increasing consumer demand for clean-label products that are free from artificial additives and preservatives. In the Indian market, this innovation has been well-received, aligning with the growing trend towards health-conscious choices and the preference for natural ingredients among consumers.

MONIN’s Paragon Range is a fascinating foray into rare botanicals. Can you tell us more about the process behind sourcing and developing such unique flavors like White Penja Pepper and Timur Berry?

The Paragon Range features rare botanicals such as White Penja Pepper and Timur Berry, sourced through sustainable and ethical practices. White Penja Pepper, for instance, is hand-harvested in Cameroon and undergoes traditional processing methods to preserve its unique flavor profile. These botanicals are then carefully processed using techniques like infusion, distillation, and supercritical CO₂ extraction to capture their essence and deliver distinctive flavors.

With the Raw Mango Syrup, MONIN has tapped into a bold and distinctly Indian flavor. How important is localization in your innovation strategy, particularly in diverse and flavor-rich markets like India?

Localization is a key component of MONIN’s innovation strategy, especially in diverse markets like India. By developing products like the Raw Mango Syrup and Spiced Jamun Syrup, MONIN demonstrates its commitment to understanding and catering to local tastes and preferences, ensuring that its offerings resonate with consumers.

Quality and safety are paramount, especially in the food and beverage space. Could you elaborate on the safety protocols, sourcing standards, and quality control systems that MONIN follows across its production and distribution?

At MONIN, quality and safety are at the heart of our operations. Our factories in France and Malaysia are certified with global standards such as BRC, HALAL, and Kosher, ensuring strict compliance with international food safety regulations. All production sites are fully automated to maintain consistency, operational excellence, and sustainable practices. We’ve also achieved a major safety milestone with 1 million safe man-hours during the NUI project in India, and our equipment is MESS-compliant, meeting advanced machinery safety standards. From ethical sourcing to end-to-end quality control systems, we ensure every MONIN product meets the highest levels of safety, reliability, and trust.

MONIN is present in over 160 countries and enjoys strong trust from hospitality professionals worldwide. What strategies have helped MONIN maintain this global presence while also catering to local tastes and trends?

MONIN maintains its global presence by combining consistent product quality with a deep understanding of local markets. The company invests in local R&D centers, such as the one in Hyderabad, to develop products tailored to regional tastes. Additionally, MONIN engages with local communities through initiatives like the MONIN Cup and masterclasses, fostering relationships and staying attuned to local trends.

As MONIN continues to push the boundaries of flavor innovation, what’s next on the horizon? Are there any upcoming launches, sustainability initiatives, or new market expansions we can look forward to?

Looking ahead, MONIN plans to launch a state-of-the-art factory in Telangana by early 2026, reinforcing its commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and sustainability. The company continues to explore innovative flavors and sustainable practices to meet the evolving needs of consumers and the F&B industry.
