Hot Condiments Brand Kaatil Launches ‘Hot Honey No. 7’, Taps into the Swicy Flavour Segment

Kaatil, one of India’s leading hot condiments brands, has announced the launch of Hot Honey No. 7, becoming the first homegrown brand to introduce hot honey at this scale in the Indian market.
A versatile blend of sweet and spicy (swicy) flavours, the product is infused with Indian multifloral honey and locally-sourced Lavangi chillis. This new addition to its growing portfolio marks a significant step in Kaatil’s strategy to expand beyond traditional hot sauces and tap into an on-trend flavour that reinforces its commitment to flavour innovation.

With the increasing popularity of “swicy-flavoured” foods over the past few years, particularly amongst younger audiences, Kaatil’s Hot Honey No. 7 arrives at the right cultural moment and aligns with the company’s objective to meet evolving consumer preferences. Curated for both home kitchens and food service businesses, the newly launched Hot Honey No. 7 serves as a drizzle, glaze, marinade, dip, and finishing sauce, elevating everything from pizzas and fried chicken to salads and ice creams.
To mark the launch, Kaatil recently hosted a first-of-its-kind Pizza Rave in Mumbai, a high-energy launch event where guests experienced the product firsthand. The celebration brought together food bloggers, creators, and members of the brand’s growing community to taste Hot Honey No. 7 across curated food pairings.

Speaking on the launch, Sagar Merchant, Founder of Kaatil, shared, “As more and more Indian consumers experiment with home cooking and fusion cuisine, sweet-heat combinations are gaining traction across urban markets. Considering this globally trending flavour profile, we decided to introduce Hot Honey No. 7, a product that perfectly balances natural sweetness with a bold, lingering heat. It is crafted for those who enjoy layered flavours and aren’t afraid of a little spice.”
Launched in 2023 by Sagar Merchant and Arjun Panwar, Kaatil has rapidly built a growing community of spice enthusiasts and partnered with several restaurants across India. The brand’s expanding portfolio includes Hot Sauces, Hot Ketchups, Chilli Oils, Hot Barbeque Sauces, and branded merchandise.

Looking ahead, the brand shared plans to further grow its condiment portfolio by introducing more Indian chilli-based variants while expanding into adjacent product categories aligned with its flavour-first philosophy.
Hot Honey No. 7 is now available across major e-commerce platforms, retail outlets, quick commerce channels, and the brand’s D2C website.
