Gopal Snacks begins namkeen production at Modasa manufacturing facility

Gopal Snacks, one of India’s leading companies in the organised traditional snacks sector, has commenced commercial production of namkeen at its manufacturing facility in Modasa, North Gujarat. The facility, which previously produced potato wafers and fryums, has been expanded to include namkeen manufacturing, complementing existing production at the company’s Rajkot and Nagpur plant.

The expansion is part of Gopal Snacks’ broader strategy to strengthen its presence across India and improve operational synergies between its manufacturing units. With namkeen production at the Modasa unit, the company aims to enhance supply efficiency, meet growing demand in northern and western markets, and ensure timely delivery to distributors.

Raj Hadvani, Whole-Time Director and CEO of Gopal Snacks, said, “The expansion of the Modasa facility with the commencement of namkeen production is an important step towards improving supply chain efficiency and meeting the increasing demand for our products across India. By producing our most of the range of namkeens at both Rajkot and Modasa, we can serve our distributors faster, strengthen our presence in new markets, and continue providing high-quality, trusted products to our consumers.”

Located in Modasa, an agriculturally rich region, the plant benefits from proximity to key raw materials such as potatoes, peanuts, and black gram, which are directly sourced from local farmers. The company has also established approx 40,000 metric tonne cold storage facility at Modasa to ensure year-round raw material availability and support continuous production.

Following the expansion, the total production capacity at Modasa is approx 200 metric tonne per day. The facility incorporates ongoing infrastructure upgrades, process improvements, and automation initiatives driven by Gopal Snacks’ in-house engineering teams to ensure operational efficiency and product consistency.

The expansion supports Gopal Snacks’ long-term growth strategy by enabling faster market reach, consistent product availability, and quicker supply to distributors across northern and western India, particularly in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh.
