CHUK Leads Global Sustainability Movement: Expands functions in seven international markets

  • Pakka strengthens its operations in Guatemala, with a $250 million food packaging solutions plant
  • The brand further charts its ambitious goal to enter 30 countries

CHUK, the flagship brand of Pakka, has launched an ambitious global expansion plan, marking its first strategic move into seven international markets. Currently, CHUK is supplying their products to the markets in New York, Houston, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Singapore, UAE, Adelaide & Perth (Australia), Netherlands, and the UK.

In parallel with CHUK’s expansion, Pakka is also strengthening its operations in Guatemala, with a $250 million food packaging solutions plant, supporting local economies and indigenous traditions. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision of responsible global growth, exemplified by its successful CSR programs around its headquarters in Ayodhya.

From its humble beginning in the city of Ayodhya in 2017, CHUK has emerged as a pioneer brand in offering compostable packaging solutions in the country. It started with a simple yet powerful vision of contributing towards a cleaner planet. This brand has transformed agricultural residue into a solution to reduce the use of single-use tableware made of non-renewable materials. CHUK uses sugarcane residue, also known as bagasse, in high-quality compostable tableware and food delivery products. Today, it is a trusted name in the country with leading food brands and Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) like Haldirams, Taco Bell, Chai Point, and more choosing CHUK’s eco-friendly packaging solutions for their daily operations. Following its exceptional success in the Indian market where the overall biodegradable tableware market is projected to grow at 6.0% CAGR from 2024 to 2030, CHUK has now marked its simultaneous foray into the 7 key international markets with the vision to replicate its regenerative model across the world.

Jagdeep Hira, India Business Head, Pakka, said, “This international expansion represents a proud moment for India, as we take our compostable food packaging solutions from Ayodhya to the global stage. There is a huge demand for eco-friendly food packaging options in the US, UAE, Canada and other countries. This expansion will help us meet the needs of environmentally conscious consumers.  Our research indicates that the HoReCa sector and retail establishments across the globe are willing to accept innovative, sustainable packaging solutions that don’t compromise on quality or functionality. CHUK’s products are uniquely positioned to meet this demand.”

CHUK is enhancing its global reach with a U.S.-focused website, chukusa.com, designed for American consumers. Staying true to its sustainability values, CHUK showcases its tableware with images of popular U.S. and global dishes. Local teams and distribution networks have been set up to ensure efficient delivery and market adaptation.
